Google Chrome

After being utterly dismayed at the recent updates to Opera (I jumped up to 9.52) which fix none of my Gmail issues and introduce a new Fischer price UI I was surprised to hear of Google Chrome less than 24 hours before its release. With the now-bloaty Firefox out of the question as a secondary browser I had painted myself into a corner with the Opera update and was considering downgrading.

After grabbing Google Chrome this morning and playing with it for a few minutes to check some of the websites I’m responsible for don’t break in horrific ways I’m left with that refreshing “New Browser” sensation. I’m impressed.

Like Opera many versions ago, and Firefox before it was Firefox. Google Chrome is lightweight and lightning fast. Let’s hope it stays that way!

Google Chrome is not without its flaws, of course, try opening it up and type “:%” (without quotes) into the address bar. Whoops!
